A Night To Remember at Tower Bridge!

We recently provided full technical support for a cabaret dinner event hosted by the National Starch and Chemical Company. The event took place in the 2 walkways of Tower Bridge, high above the Thames and featured Nobles Band, a dynamic all-female string trio who were specially flown in from Prague.

Providing sound for the event was a real challenge as the walkways are 65m long and only 4m wide! However the fantastic band combined with the awesome view of the city below made it a night to remember for all!

The organisers wrote "Shock Audio Visual is a real 'can do' company. The team found a solution to every problem we threw at them and provided a professional, reliable and friendly service. Their efforts played a vital role in making our event such a success. We will definately be working with them again."

Our client wrote to thank us: "You took all the anxiety out of the evening meaning we could concentrate on our guests and fundraising for our project - we look forward to working with you againin the future."

All Clear Films produce royalty free video clips that production companies can use to show in their own films. Shock produced the soundtrack to several new pieces including an animated music video, a "Police, Camera, Action!" type clip and even a horse race. We'll be working with All Clear on some new clips again soon.

Monster Hit!

We've had our first review for 'Monster Hits' at the Edinburgh Festival.
Shock composed and recorded the music for the show in our recording studios in North London.

http://edinburgh.threeweeks.co.uk/detail_review.asp?id=4456

"Stop right there! Now turn and run - don't stop until you've got your mitts on a 24-carat ticket for 'Monster Hits'. There aren't enough superlatives to express the sheer unbelievable, amazing, wonderfully heart meltingly colourful spectacularness of this show. Bursting with boundless energy, each character is perfectly performed, with every sinew eager to move, sing, bounce and play. Everything you can dream of is created physically with faultless accuracy. The costumes are a-dazzle, only outdone by the bulging smiles and fiery eyes of all. A sheer rarity, blessed with the gift to spread joy and turn back the ancient hands of time. I truly became a child again and will surely be smiling for days."

Well done to Tall Stories for producing another great show!

Audio Visual for Beacon and Waxham Barn

Shock worked again with the Beacon Fellowship, this time at their 'Philanthropy in the City Forum' at the Chicago Graduate Business School in the City of London. Shock provided Powerpoint and video support as well as providing a PA system for 250 delegates. All presentations and question and answer sessions were recorded. The session recordings were then mastered at our studio and sent for transcription.

Waxham Barn, a Grade 1 listed, beautiful old barn was the venue for a national conference on the subject of coastal erosion and global warming organised by Lincoln University. Shock provided sound and projection facilities for the presentations. We also recorded the presentations on to CD for transcription. Built in the 1500s(!) the barn which was used to store wheat has now been restored and is now used as a conference/ education venue. The Barn has little artificial light so to let in more light the huge barn doors are thrown open.

Weddings Galore! - sound for speeches and parties

The summer wedding season has begun! - we've installed and run sound, lighting and staging for a few weddings this summer already. We provided radio microphones and a sound system for a very lovely wedding in Tunbridge Wells recently.

The Groom wrote to us afterwards, "I just wanted to drop you a quick line now that I have got back from my Honeymoon to pass on to you Lisa and my sincere thanks for everything you did at our wedding. I must say that the music was my biggest worry for the day, what a waste of emotion that was! Thank you so much for everything you did for us, the service you provided was outstanding" Richard

Springtime events

Spring saw us working on a wide variety of events: from providing a sound system and microphones for an outdoor rugby festival in France to installing and running the sound for the Sephardic Flamenco band Los Desterrados at the London Jewish Cultural Centre. More information and details of forthcoming gigs can be found at www.losdesterrados.com. Conference and meeting recording

We've recently invested in a couple of great location sound recorders.

http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h4/

We can now very easily record a conference for a client and hand them a USB memory stick at the end of the conference with all the presentations from the day recorded on it.

We can also take the recordings back to our recording studio, edit and master the recordings; then present the client with a CD of the conference to be sent off for transcription or sent to someone who missed the conference.

Here's a thanks you note from our client Jose Hulsenbeck at Medicine Sans Frontier. We recorded their recent 'Scientific Day' at St Bart's Great Hall in Central London

"Thanks for the MP3s. We received the disc yesterday. Great quality. This will help us with our abstracts as well as giving the opportunity to post some of the presentations on the website"

A Night of Song with a hint of Jazz

So far February has seen us working with an array of talented musicians. First off was "A Night of Song" at Edgware Synagogue which attracted over a thousand people (with 100 turned away at the door). 4 talented soloists were accompanied by the Shabbaton choir and various musicians in an amazing evening of Jewish liturgical and Yiddish song. Shock provided full lighting and sound for the concert.

Adult and childrens' choirs also provided the entertainment for a Naom Primary School fundraising evening held in the Kinloss suite in Finchley. Also entertaining the crowd was talented pianist Yuval Havkin and the evening was completed by showing of a fundraising film on our 10ft screen.

On February 10th Shock combined forces with Pirate Management to produce an evening of jazz with all profits going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The performers included a jazz quartet led by Danny Davies and Andy Quinn whilst David Berkovitch and Peter Gallagher entertained with musical theatre. Shock again handled all the sound and lighting for the event which raised over £3000 for the charity.
