Sound for Bicycle Ballet

Today's City of London Festival - Shock set up and ran the sound for 3 performances of the Bicycle Ballet in Paternoster Square London.

City of London Festival

This is the 10th year that Shock have been working with the City of London Festival. We're providing full concert support for many of the festival's events. Our highlights of the first week included a mass Ceilidh on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral, guitarist Martin Taylor and pianist/ singer Ian Shaw playing jazz at Finsbury Circus Gardens and Terje Isunget one of the most accomplished and innovative percussionists in Europe performing at Apothecaries Hall.

Sound for the MOJO awards

Shock provided sound services for the MOJO awards 2009. Amongst those receiving awards were Johnny Marr, Yoko Ono, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Elbow, Blur, Paul Weller, Fleet Foxes and the Manic Street Preachers

Full AV support for solicitor's conference

Shock provided staging, set, projection, lighting and sound services for the recent Motor Accident Solicitor's Society conference at the Russell Hotel in London.

Miss China UK

Shock provided a full technical service for the recent, sell-out Miss China UK event at the Lyric Theatre in London's West End.

We provided live video links to a number of screens on stage and around the theatre, playback of sound effects, music and video cues.

Newmarket Sport Experience at Disneyland Paris

Shock provided radio microphone and sound systems for Newmarket Group's International Rugby festival which took place at Disneyland Paris.

Shock in New Drama!

Shock have again worked with long term collaborators Tall Stories on a new children's show called "Room on The Broom". This adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's classic picturebook tells the story of a hapless witch who when flying through the back of beyond, keeps losing things and has to fly to the ground to pick them up. Along the way, the witch and her trusty cat meet lots of characters who they agree to take with them. It isn't long before this leads to some serious overloading and an encounter with a hungry dragon! Shock wrote and produced the music for the show which is currently touring the UK and will run in the West End this Christmas.


We also recently provided sound design and technical services for a live tour of "Boogie Pete", a show developed by the BBC and seen by millions on the CBEEBIES channel.


Meanwhile, another classic children's show that we wrote the music for has finally reached the shores of Australia. "The Gruffalo" hit Sydney this week having been seen by hundreds and thousands of children around the world and is already selling out for much of it's scheduled tour around Australia and New Zealand.

Limmud Conference

Shock provided full AV support for UK Limmud events in 2008 including sound, lighting, staging and projection.

Hewitt Records Meetings

Human Resources giant Hewitt Associates, recently employed Shock to record a series of seminars aimed at finding methods for managing and maintaining pension funds. Over a series of 6 sessions in London, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol up to 6 presnters were fitted with radio lapel microphones and the subsequent recordings archived onto CD's for transcription.

A Night at the Portuguese Embassy

Shock recently provided full AV services for a book launch at the beautiful Portuguese Embassy in London's Belgrave Square. The author of the book, celebrated architect and designer Andre Jordan, was interviewed by Sky TV's Eamonn Holmes. Shock filmed the event and provided screens throughout the building so guests all had a great view of proceedings.

Limmud Fest '08

Shock provided a full concert and AV service to Limmud Fest a Jewish festival held in Derbyshire. Despite the appalling weather during the set up the event went exceptionally well.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea has been adapted for the theatre.

We provided sound effects (Tigers are very noisy and hungry eaters) and sound design services for the theatrical production of this well loved children's book. Starting at the Bloomsbury Theatre in September '08 this show should be touring around the UK for some time. Limmud Hackney

Limmud Hackney - Shock provided sound equipment for performers and presenters at Limmud's Hackney cay conference.

Walking for Gilad Event

We provided full AV equipment and support for the 'Walking for Gilad' event at the Lyric Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue. An audience of 1000 were there to give suppport to the parents of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. There were moving performances by Israeli artsists Ehud Banai and Maya Raviv and an address from the Israeli Ambassador.

AV for Canon conference and team building day

Shock provided full AV support for Canon's conference day in London including radio microphones, sound system, screens and projector. We also provided a portable sound system for use outdoors.

The Other Seder - Wilton's Music Hall

We provided sound, projection and technicians for a great event organised by the Jewish Community Centre for London and YAD Arts at the crumbling but atmospheric Wilton's Music Hall in London. The night featured contemporary dance choreographed by Hofesh Shechter, and fifteen piece anarchic gypsy punk band The Destroyers.

Gandini Juggle

The City of London Festival is drawing to a close. One late highlight was the skillful Gandini jugglers at Guildhall Yard. We provided the sound system for their backing music.

Slow Boat to Haifa

Another recent event was 'Slow Boat to Haifa organised by the JCC for London and YAD Arts on board HMS President a boat moored on the Thames by Victoria Embankment . We provided full audio support for the main ballroom and the bar. Performers included 6 piece jazz-swing band Kings Cross Hot Club and Rona Kenan from Israel

Shock AV at Bridewell Hall

Bridewell Hall was the location for a week long series of evening concerts for the City of London Festival. We provided all sound equipment and technicians. A highlight was the Swiss group Stimmhorn. This duo use Swiss alphorns and incredible voice work to produce a theatrical and moving performance. 

Guildhall Yard Stage - City of London Festival

Shock provided all sound services, equipment and support for the summer stage at Guildhall Yard in the City of London. Artists ranged from a 50 piece Swiss band to groups such as the Puppini Sisters and ska favorites The Trojans
