h many people in the Audio-Visual industry, shock have had a very busy October. Highlights this month have included several events at the Portuguese Embassy celebrating 350 years of the Douro region. As well as audio-visual presentations these events usually involve tasting fine Portuguese wines and foods (and Shock technicians are always very keen to work on them!) We've also been working at the Everyman Cinema in Hampstead alongside the Jewish Community Centre for London to produce the Opinion Soup series of Q and A discussions and most recently “Judology” a panel discussion which included Howard Jacobson and David Schneider amongst others.
On a creative note, Shock have been working with Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company and the Brighton Dome to produce the music for " The Night Before Christmas" a specially commissioned new theatre show for young people. The show will perform in Brighton over Christmas and then tour around the country next year.
Speaking of tours there will be 6 other productions running over the holiday
season that Shock has written the music for including "The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo's Child" both based on the award winning books by Julia Donaldson. These shows, created by Tall Stories theatre company have been watched by hundreds of thousands of children and their parents over the years and is still going strong. "The Gruffalo" has even been made into a DVD produced by Really Useful Films.
